Authorities had little to go on after a boy was killed Saturday shortly after midnight in a mysterious shooting in Cudahy.
Deputies from the East Los Angeles station responded at 12:30 a.m. to a call of a gunshot victim in the 5200 block of Clara Street, where they found the victim with a single gunshot to his upper body, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The victim was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, the department said.
It wasn’t clear if deputies know the name or age of the victim, disclosing only that the victim was a boy.
A motive for the shooting and description of the shooter were not available.
Cudahy is a small city south of downtown Los Angeles and adjacent to South Gate along the Los Angeles River and the Long Beach (710) Freeway.
