A motorcyclist was killed Wednesday in a solo crash on the Riverside (91) Freeway.
The fatality happened about 5 a.m. on the westbound 91, just west of Pierce Street, on the west end of Riverside, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Officer Juan Quintero said the victim, whose name was not immediately released, was traveling at an unknown speed in the fast lane when she “lost control of her motorcycle, causing her to be ejected” onto the freeway.
No other vehicles were involved, Quintero said.
Riverside Fire Department paramedics pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
The HOV and fast lanes were closed on the westbound side for over an hour while a preliminary investigation was conducted and debris was cleared from the freeway.
Anyone with information about the deadly crash was asked to contact the Riverside CHP office at 951-637-8000.
