Authorities Friday were trying to confirm the remains found by a hiker in a mountainous area of Burbank were really human bones.
The hiker discovered the bones in the mountains near the end of East Elmwood Avenue, north of Sunset Canyon Drive, according to media reports Thursday night.
Coroner’s office investigators were at the scene to examine the remains.
No other details were available from officials.
Authorities did not speculate about the cause of death if the bones turned out to be human.
