An investigation was underway Friday following the discovery of a charred body under suspicious circumstances in Moreno Valley.
Deputies were sent to the 13400 block of Old 215 Frontage Road about 5:20 a.m. Thursday on a report that a body had been found by firefighters, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Sgt. Richard Carroll said fire crews extinguished a structure fire at the location and discovered the burned body inside.
The person has not yet been identified, officials said.
Cal Fire arson investigators are looking into the cause of the fire, while sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit investigators are probing the suspicious death.
