Pro-Palestinian demonstrators took to the street in West Los Angeles for the second time in four days Tuesday amid the ongoing violence between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.

The rally was organized by the Palestinian Youth Movement and scheduled from noon to 3 p.m. at the Israeli Consulate at 11766 Wilshire Blvd.

Video posted online showed a crowd holding signs and chanting slogans including “Gaza, Gaza don’t you cry. Palestine will never die.”

The Los Angeles Police Department told City News Service that police were aware of the event and were monitoring it, but no arrests were reported. The department’s West Los Angeles station advised drivers to avoid Wilshire Boulevard between South Westgate Avenue and South Barrington Avenue if possible.

The rally was one of several events around the United States on what organizers termed a Day of Action, when supports worldwide called for mass strikes.

More than 1,000 demonstrators attended a similar rally on Saturday.

The conflict began last week and continued to rage on Tuesday. it is the deadliest Israeli-Palestinian confrontation since the two sides fought a war in 2014.
