A total of eight drivers were cited for driving a vehicle while unlicensed or with a suspended or revoked license at a DUI and drivers license checkpoint in Pomona, authorities said Saturday morning.
The checkpoint was conducted between 9 p.m. Friday and 3 a.m. Saturday, according to the Pomona Police Department.
In addition to the eight citations, two vehicles were towed, the department said.
Drivers convicted of DUI can expect to pay approximately $13,500 in fines, fees, DUI classes, license suspension and other expenses, not to mention possible jail time, police said.
In 2018, Pomona police investigated 127 DUI crashes that injured 49 people.
