Firefighters knocked down a house fire in West Hills that left one person hurt.

The fire inside a 1,675-square-foot one-story home at 6531 N. Kentland Ave. was reported at 8:22 p.m., Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey said.

One person suffered unspecified injuries and was likely to be transported to a hospital for treatment, Humphrey said. There was no immediate word on the age or gender of the victim.

The department dispatched 26 firefighters to the scene and extinguished the flames in 21 minutes, Humphrey said.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation, he said.
