Three men were shot early Monday morning in the unincorporated Florence-Firestone area of Los Angeles and two died from their wounds.

The shooting occurred just after 1 a.m. in the 6600 block of Makee Avenue, according to Deputy Trina Schrader of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

A 39-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene from a gunshot wound to the upper body, Schrader said. A 23-year-old man was taken by paramedics to a hospital with gunshot wounds to his legs, she said.

A 23-year-old man also shot at the scene was discovered at another hospital where he was pronounced dead from gunshot wounds to the upper body, Schrader said.

“Deputies received information there was a gathering at the location. A white sedan pulled up, a possible argument ensued, at which time gunfire erupted,” she said. “The suspect vehicle fled in an unknown direction.”

The victims’ names were not released.
