Authorities Wednesday identified a 25-year-old man who was shot and killed in Anaheim.

Anaheim Police Department officers were called to the area of Catalpa Avenue and Euclid Street at about 7:40 p.m. Tuesday on reports of shots fired, according to Sgt. Shane Carringer.

Responding officers located evidence of a shooting at the scene before they were notified of a shooting victim in a vehicle parked just south of the area near Pampas Lane and Euclid Street.

Officers located Abel Saldana in the car suffering from at least one gunshot wound, Carringer said. Saldana was taken to a hospital where he died of his injuries.

Anyone with information of the shooting was asked to call the Anaheim Police Department at 714-321-3669 or Orange County Crime Stoppers at 855-TIP-OCCS.
