A 21-year-old man was charged Friday with stabbing a transient in an Anaheim alley in April, in what police said was a gang-related attack.

Anthony Angel Cantu, who was arrested Wednesday, is charged with attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and participating in gang activity, all felonies. Cantu also faces sentencing enhancement allegations of attempted premeditated murder and gang activity.

Ryan Curtis, 38, is also facing charges in connection with the April 9 attack, according to Anaheim police Sgt. Jake Gallacher. Curtis was arrested May 19, according to jail records.

The victim said he was sleeping in an alley in the 2900 block of West Lincoln Avenue when two men stabbed him multiple times about 3:20 a.m., Gallacher said. The victim was taken to an area hospital in serious condition, he said.
