A man in his 50s died when two motorcycles collided on the Aerospace (14) Highway in the Antelope Valley, authorities said Sunday.
The crash was reported at 11:49 p.m. Saturday on the southbound Aerospace Highway just south of Avenue A, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Patrick Kimball.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, Kimball said.
Officers were searching northbound lanes for another motorcyclist who might have been ejected onto northbound lanes during the crash, he said.
The second motorcycle was found on the northbound side of the road.
Officers were checking Antelope Valley Hospital to see if a crash victim was brought in by a civilian, Kimball said.
Both southbound and northbound lanes were shut down with southbound traffic diverted off at Avenue A, he said. Northbound lanes were reopened at 4:20 a.m.
