Authorities sought public help Wednesday in locating a hit-and-run driver accused of causing a crash that killed a 30-year-old man in La Quinta a week and a half ago.

Sheriff’s deputies were sent about 5:30 a.m. on June 7 to the intersection of Calle Sinaloa and Avenida Mendoza. Sgt. Chris Olsen said the driver of a vehicle struck another vehicle before fleeing the scene.

First responders found Obed Heredia Palomino of La Quinta unconscious in the roadway. He was transported to an area hospital, where he died on June 12.

No information about the driver and suspect vehicle was released.

Anyone with information about the crash was urged to call sheriff’s Deputy Joshua Van Gorp at 760-863-8990.
