A man was in custody Friday in connection with a non-injury shooting involving a Los Angeles police anti-gang unit.
The officers from the Los Angeles Police Department 77th Street Community Station saw a car stopped in an alley east of Normandie Avenue and south of 88th Street, in the Gramercy Park area, about 10:45 p.m. Thursday, according to an LAPD statement.
“A male adult exited the vehicle armed with a handgun; at that time, there was an officer-involved shooting,” the statement says.
Police declined to say whether the suspect fired his weapon or release any additional details about the shooting. His name was withheld.
The handgun was recovered by investigators, according to police.
