A motorcycle rider believed to be in his 30s was shot and killed while riding his bike early Sunday in Compton.
The shooting was reported just after midnight at Wilmington Avenue and Artesia Boulevard, according to Deputy Tracy Koerner of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
Deputies were called to respond to a traffic collision about 12:41 a.m. and found the motorcyclist on the ground.
“It was discovered the male victim sustained gunshot wounds.,” Koerner said.
Paramedics took the victim to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, Koerner said.
Homicide detectives conducted a crime scene investigation, he said.
A description of the suspect or the suspect’s vehicle were not available and the weapon used was not found, Koerner said.
