Police were attempting Tuesday to negotiate the surrender of a barricaded suspect who led officers on a pursuit.
Officers had attempted to talk to the suspect behind the Marshalls store at 17261 17th St. because he had collision damage to his vehicle just after 9 a.m., Tustin police Lt. Stephanie Nichols said.
The suspect “raised a flare to the officer” and then fled in the vehicle, leading police on a short pursuit which ended at Yorba Street just north of Santa Clara Avenue, when he stopped and remained behind the wheel, Nichols said.
The standoff was continuing as of 12:40 p.m., Nichols said.
