Three people were hurt Tuesday in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 62 in Desert Hot Springs in which one of the involved SUVs caught fire.
The crash was reported just before 10:30 a.m. in the southbound direction at the Pierson Boulevard intersection, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Desert Hot Springs Police Chief Jim Henson said three people suffered injuries that were non-life-threatening. They were taken to an area hospital for treatment, he said.
Firefighters were summoned to extinguish a Chevrolet Suburban that caught fire after the initial impact. The scene was clear as of early afternoon, Henson said.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
