A pharmacist has pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting two boys in Buena Park, including one he is related to, and been sentenced to eight years in prison, according to court records obtained Tuesday.

Javier Rene Zamora pleaded guilty Friday to one felony count each of lewd act with a minor, sodomy with a minor and lewd with a child 14 or 15. As part of his plea deal six other felony counts of sex acts on minors were dropped.

Zamora, who turns 50 on Wednesday, was also ordered to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

According to testimony at his preliminary hearing, Buena Park police said a relative of Zamora’s came to them in September of 2019 alleging Zamora sexually assaulted him once a week since he was 5 years old for about 15 years.

The first time was during a cousin’s birthday part at the defendant’s home and another time was at Zamora’s pharmacy that he owned in Santa Ana, police said.

Zamora also molested a next-door neighbor when he was 15 to 17 years old, police said.

Zamora was given credit for serving 776 days behind bars awaiting trial.
