A 58-year-old man was charged Wednesday with sexually assaulting two girls in Tustin.
German De Jesus Rangel-Ruiz was accused of molesting five victims 8 to 14 years old about eight to 10 years ago, according to Tustin Police Department Lt. Stephanie Nichols.
It was not clear why Rangel-Ruiz was charged with assaulting two victims instead of five, Nichols said.
Rangel-Ruiz was charged with four counts of lewd acts on a child and four counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child with a foreign object, all felonies. He also faces a sentencing enhancement allegation for multiple victims.
Rangel-Ruiz, who was being held on $100,000 bail, had his arraignment in the jail courtroom of Santa Ana on Wednesday rescheduled for Aug. 27.
