A man killed when his moped and a pickup truck collided at a Jurupa Valley intersection was identified Monday as a 69-year-old Eastvale resident.
Jeffrey Bowen was fatally injured about 10:20 a.m. Sunday at Etiwanda and Limonite avenues, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Bowen was headed west on Limonite Avenue and made a U-turn in the path of a Chevrolet Silverado, also westbound. The pickup plowed into the moped, hurling Bowen to the pavement, according to the sheriff’s department.
Paramedics reached the location within a few minutes and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The pickup truck driver, who was not injured, was questioned by deputies but not arrested, sheriff’s officials said.
The collision remains under investigation, and anyone with information was asked to call the sheriff’s Jurupa Valley Station at 951-776-1099.
