A bomb squad was sent to a Ralphs in Pasadena Saturday after a suspicious package was found in the market’s parking lot, triggering a closure of streets in the immediate area for about two hours.
The discovery at 320 W. Colorado Blvd. was reported at about 12:30 p.m. and the public was advised to avoid Colorado Boulevard, between St. John Avenue and Orange Grove Boulevard, the city of Pasadena reported.
Out of “an abundance of caution’,” police closed down streets in the immediate area, according to city spokeswoman Lisa Derderian.
She told City News Service at about 2:40 p.m. that the device had been rendered safe.
Derderian did not have a description of the device but noted, “In this day and age we always take everything that looks suspicious very seriously.”
