Firefighters knocked down a small brush fire Sunday in Shadow Hills that charred about an acre of grass.
The blaze which began burning near 8300 W. La Tuna Canyon Road, just north of the Foothill (210) Freeway, was reported at 4:43 p.m., said Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.
Firefighters will remain at the scene to put out any hot spots that might flare up, Stewart said.
No victims were reported and no structures were threatened.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
