A single-story church in the Broadway-Manchester area of South Los Angeles was damaged by flames Sunday evening.
The fire was reported just after 10 p.m. at 100 E. 107th Street, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Margaret Stewart.
Arriving firefighters reported flames and smoke showing, Stewart said.
It took 36 firefighters 26 minutes to put out the flames, she said.
No injuries were reported.
The department’s Arson and Counter-Terrorism Section was called to investigate the fire because it was in a house of worship, Stewart said.
