A man was killed Saturday in a drive-by shooting in the Central-Alameda area of Los Angeles.

The shooting was reported at 4:14 p.m. in front of 1742 E. 41st Place, according to Officer D. Orris of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center.

The 20-year-old man was standing in front of the residence when shots were fired from a vehicle that drove up to him, Orris said. More than one suspect was believed inside the vehicle.

Paramedics took the victim to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the officer said.

The shooting was believed gang related, he said.

About 30 minutes earlier, another suspected gang-related homicide of a 20-year-old occurred, but was roughly 50 blocks away, in Watts, and there was no indication that the two were related.
