At least two people were injured in a shooting near Santee High School in Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles School Police Department reported the shooting about 2 p.m. on the outskirts of the school, located 1921 Maple Ave., just south of the 10 Freeway and east of the 110.

One gunshot victim was being treated at the scene by paramedics. A second victim was found about 30 minutes later at nearby Maple Primary Center, on the corner of Maple and 36th Street. The condition of the victims was not immediately known.

The high school was placed on lockdown while police established a perimeter to search for the shooter, described as a Hispanic male with dark blue clothes and green shoes, who fled on a light blue bicycle.

No further details were released.
