A Perris man was behind bars Wednesday on suspicion of armed robbery.

William Reyes, 26, committed the robbery Sept. 21 at a business on the 200 block of Nuevo Road, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Investigators later identified Reyes as the suspect and detained him without incident on Tuesday, according to Sgt. Dave Tinker. How investigators identified him was not specified.

Reyes was booked into the Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta, where he was being held on $500,000 bail.

He is scheduled to make his initial court appearance on Oct. 1 at the Riverside Hall of Justice.
