A shootout in the East Hollywood area left a man dead and another man hospitalized Tuesday, police said.
Officers were called at 11:54 p.m. Monday to the 300 block of North Vermont Avenue near Beverly Boulevard, said Los Angeles Police Department Officer Lizeth Lomeli.
According to the preliminary investigation, the two men fired shots at one another, Lomeli said. One man died at the scene, and the other man was hospitalized in stable condition, Lomeli said.
The names of the men were not immediately available for release. The circumstances of the shooting were under investigation.
