Homicide detectives were seeking public help Thursday for clues in the shooting death of a man who was gunned down in San Dimas.

The shooting occurred about 7:05 p.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of South Valley Center Avenue, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported.

The man in his 60s died at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office and the sheriff’s department. His name was withheld, pending notification of his relatives.

Detectives planned a Thursday afternoon news conference in Monterey Park to seek public help in the case.
