A person is in custody Thursday morning as police are searching for an active shooter in South Los Angeles.
Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department established a perimeter in the area of Central Avenue and 34th Street at 5 a.m. after receiving a call of an active shooter, said LAPD Officer Lizeth Lomeli.
Lomeli could not confirm if the person taken into custody was the shooter.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area or seek alternate routes.
