A police officer wounded a man during a shooting Sunday morning in Long Beach, authorities said.
The man suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his lower body and a handgun was recovered at the scene, the Long Beach Police Department reported.
Officers were dispatched at about 12:15 a.m. to the 1900 block of Harbor Avenue regarding a report of a shooting and came upon a man they believed was holding a handgun. One of the arriving officers fired a shot, wounding the suspect.
No officers were injured during the shooting.
