Firefighters Monday freed a driver trapped in a vehicle that crashed off Highway 60 near Beaumont.

The Riverside County Fire Department received a report of the single vehicle collision about 5:30 a.m. at the Jack Rabbit Trail on-ramp of Highway 60.

Firefighters arrived on the scene to find a single victim who had crashed off the roadway and was in need of extrication. The victim was freed from the vehicle and transported to a nearby hospital.

The cause of the crash and the extent of the injuries were unknown.
