A pedestrian fatally struck by a vehicle in Santa Ana was a resident of that city.

The Orange County coroner’s office identified him as 41-year-old Arturo Quevedo, according to sheriff’s Sgt. Ryan Anderson.

The fatal collision occurred about 1:20 a.m. Friday in the 800 block of South Fairview Street, according to the Santa Ana Police Department. The man was declared dead at the scene.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the man now identified as Quevedo was in the northbound lanes of Fairview mid-block between McFadden Avenue and Highland Street and was struck by what police described as an early 2000s Mercedes-Benz sedan, a late-model Hyundai and a Toyota Corolla.

Only the Corolla driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

The department’s Collision Investigations Unit was working to determine the cause of the collision and the identity of the hit-and-run drivers.

Witnesses were encouraged to call the traffic division of the Santa Ana Police Department at 714-245-8216.
