A man who was shot in Pacoima crashed into a pole Thursday in a shooting authorities say might be gang-related.

KCAL 9 reported the shooting occurred at 9:35 p.m. Wednesday in the 9800 block of Rincon Avenue in Pacoima where the victim, who was with a group of other males, reportedly was approached by the suspect and an altercation ensued, police said.

As the altercation escalated, the suspect drew a gun and shot the victim, KCAL 9 reported.

The victim tried to drive to a hospital but crashed into a light pole at Arleta Avenue and Osborne Street in Arleta. He was taken to a hospital with a leg injury in stable condition.

The suspect ran from the shooting scene and remains at large. There were no further details on the shooting.
