A man found shot to death near a bike path along the Los Angeles River in South Gate was a West Covina resident, authorities said Saturday.
Jorge Rivera Jr. was 28 years old, according to coroner’s Lt. David Smith.
Detectives were sent to Southern Avenue and Burtis Street about 6:40 a.m. Friday, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
No arrests were reported. Sheriff’s Homicide detectives were assisting South Gate police in the investigation.
