A 27-year-old man was fatally wounded while walking in the middle of a street in the Florence area of Los Angeles, authorities said Monday.
The shooting was reported at 5:23 p.m. Sunday outside 221 W. 78th St., according to a desk officer at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center.
“He heard a pop and discovered he was hit,” the officer said.
Paramedics took the victim to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, the officer said.
Suspect information was not available, he said.
