An investigation was continuing Tuesday into the discovery of a man’s body in Indio, but police said the death has been ruled a homicide.

Indio Police Department officers were dispatched just after 3 a.m. Monday to the 45900 block of Duquesne Street and arrived to find the body of the man, whose age was not immediately available, according to department spokesman Ben Guitron.

According to Guitron, the death was reported by people who lived with the man.

The man’s name was withheld pending notification of relatives.

On Tuesday, authorities officially declared the death a homicide, although no other details were released. The death was one of two homicides in the city in as many days. The other was a shooting death that was reported in the 43000 block of Nairobi Drive Tuesday afternoon.
