A man was fatally assaulted at a Norco residence by a suspect who was at large Thursday.
The attack happened about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 1500 block of Temescal Avenue, near First Street, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Sgt. Richard Carroll said that deputies were called to the location to investigate reports of an assault and found the victim, whose identity was not immediately released, “with obvious trauma.”
The specific injuries and the type of weapon used were not disclosed.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The assailant had fled.
Central Homicide Unit detectives were called to the property and took over the investigation.
There was no word on whether potential suspects had been identified
