A woman was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Fullerton Thursday morning.
The collision occurred at Brea Boulevard and Bastanchury Road, according to Fullerton police Sgt. Brandon Clyde. It’s unclear when it happened, but officers were called at 6:45 a.m. to check on the welfare of someone in the median of the road, Clyde said.
Police were working to identify the victim, who was possibly transient, Clyde said.
The pedestrian was not in a crosswalk at the time and was struck west of Brea, where it is a busy thoroughfare, Clyde said.
It appears the woman was crossing Bastanchury Road when she was struck by the westbound car, Clyde said. The driver kept going, but a portion of the vehicle’s blue bumper was left behind and investigators suspect the vehicle was a Toyota, Clyde said.
Anyone who may have seen the collision was asked to call investigators at 714-738-6812. Orange County Crime Stoppers will accept anonymous tips at 855-TIP-OCCS.
