Felony charges are expected to be filed Tuesday against two men arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a 24-year-old man in Indio a month ago.

Christian Brooks Andrade, 20, of La Quinta, and Adrian Vega, 22, of Coachella, were arrested Thursday on suspicion of murder, according to the Indio Police Department.

They are suspected of fatally shooting Alejandro Lupercio, 24, of Indio, who was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds at around 3 a.m. Dec. 13 in the 45900 block of Duquesne Street, police said.

The death was reported by people who lived with Lupercio, according to department spokesman Ben Guitron.

Andrade was arrested in La Quinta and booked into the John Benoit Detention Center, where he remained jailed on $1 million bail.

In addition to murder, Vega is also suspected of being a felon in possession of a firearm and illegally concealing a firearm in his vehicle. He was arrested in Coachella and was jailed at the Robert Presley Detention Center on $1 million bail.

There was no word on a possible motive for the shooting.
