One of two men killed in a South Gate shooting was publicly identified Monday.
Gustavo Martinez Avendano, 42, was a South Gate resident. His location of death was listed as a bar/nightclub. Coroner’s investigators were still working to contact the next-of-kin of the second victim.
Police responded at 3:18 a.m. Saturday to the 4000 block of Tweedy Boulevard where they found two men with gunshot wounds, said Deputy Miguel Meza of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau .
Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available at this time, Meza said.
