A magnitude 4.0 earthquake with an epicenter about 17 miles southeast of Temecula was recorded Sunday morning, but there were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
The epicenter of the 9:46 a.m. quake was in Palomar Mountain State Park in northern San Diego County, the U.S. U.S. Geological Survey reported.
The quake — originally recorded as a 4.1 before being slightly downgraded — had a depth of about 13.7 miles and was felt as far north as Riverside, Rialto and Hesperia, according to the USGS.
