Three suspects were taken into custody Tuesday evening following an hourslong barricade in Newport Beach.
Newport Beach Police Department officers responded about 5:45 p.m. in the area East Balboa Boulevard and Medina Way after the three “possible felony suspects” barricaded inside a home, according to a department statement.
SWAT units were called to the scene to assist and East Balboa Boulevard between Island Avenue and Coronado Street was closed during the standoff.
One suspect was taken into custody about 7:40 p.m. SWAT units then entered the home and arrested the other two, according to the NBPD.
No injuries were reported in the standoff.
KCAL9 reported the house where the suspects barricaded belonged to former “The Real Housewives of Orange County” cast member Elizabeth Lyn Vargas. However, authorities could not immediately confirm who the house belonged to.
