It took 25 minutes for firefighters to put out flames in a pizza restaurant at a two-story strip mall in the Beverly Grove area of Los Angeles.
The fire was reported at 7:41 p.m. at 842 N. La Cienega Blvd., near Willoughby Avenue, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey.
The LAFD firefighters were aided in the initial attack by Los Angeles County counterparts, Humphrey said.
The restaurant was on the first floor of the strip mall, he said. There is a Vito’s Pizza located in the strip mall, listed as 846 N. La Cienega Blvd.
One person — possibly an employee or a patron — suffered smoke exposure and was medically evaluated at the scene, he said.
