A driving under the influence checkpoint in Pomona cited 30 drivers Saturday for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license.

Officers conducting the checkpoint, which occurred from 9 p.m. Friday until 2 a.m. between Garey and Monterey avenues, also had 13 vehicles towed, according to the Pomona Police Department’s Traffic Services Bureau.

DUI Checkpoints are placed in locations based on collision statistics and frequency of DUI arrests. In 2021, the Pomona Police Department investigated 125 DUI collisions that injured 38 people.
