It took firefighters about 90 minutes to put out flames that consumed roughly 60 acres of vegetation in Palmdale Saturday.
The fire was reported at 2:34 p.m. at East Avenue M and 50th Street East, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Melanie Flores.
It was near U.S. Air Force land and a military manufacturing plant, Flores said.
A helicopter made water drops as 50 firefighters battled the blaze on the ground, she said.
The flames were out at 4:11 p.m. and firefighters remained on the scene to put out hot spots, she said.
No injuries were reported.
