Two men were arrested after deputies seized several guns, including a fully automatic rifle, from a business and a hotel in the Coachella Valley, sheriff’s officials said Saturday.

Authorities served search warrants at 9:30 p.m. Friday at a business in the 73000 block of Highway 111 in Palm Desert and at a hotel in the 44000 block of Indian Wells Lane in Indian Wells, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies allegedly found multiple illegally possessed firearms, including two 9mm semi-automatic handguns, a .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun and a fully automatic rifle, sheriff’s officials said.

According to investigators, the rifle was unserialized — what is commonly referred to as a “ghost gun.”

Gabriel Miralez, 19, of Thermal and Reynaldo Olea, 20, of Indio were arrested and booked the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio on suspicion of several firearm-related crimes.

Authorities said Olea is a documented gang member. He remained behind bars in lieu of $10,000 bail, according to inmate records.

Booking information on Miralez was not available.
