A man who died in a hospital about 29 hours after he was shot in Huntington Park was publicly identified Saturday.
Jose Leandro Jr. was a 31-year-old resident of Huntington Park, according to the coroner’s office.
The shooting occurred about 9 p.m. Monday in the 2700 block of Gage Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, which was assisting Huntington Park police in the investigation.
Leandro died at a hospital at about 1:50 a.m. Wednesday, the sheriff’s department reported.
No arrests were reported. Anyone with information about the crime was urged to call the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500.
