Authorities Monday identified a teen who was shot and killed in Compton.
The shooting was reported about 1:40 p.m. Sunday in the 1400 block of South Temple Avenue, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Lizette Falcon.
Tyre Towns, 16, from Compton, died at the scene, the Los Angeles County coroner’s office reported.
Falcon said a dark-colored sedan was seen leaving the area northbound on Temple Avenue around the time of the shooting. No arrests were reported, and a motive for the shooting was unknown.
