A 70-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman were charged Monday with murder in connection with the death of a man who was discovered in Woodland Hills with his hands and feet bound.

Anthony Phillip Ostroff — also known as Anthony Saviano — and Calene Anne Frank — also known as Calene Brudek — were set to appear in a Van Nuys courtroom for arraignment Monday afternoon.

The two have remained behind bars since their arrests last Thursday following an investigation into Jeffrey Howe’s death.

The 42-year-old man was found dead at a hotel in the 20200 block of Ventura Boulevard about 5:30 p.m. March 10.

“Officers responded to a radio call of a battery investigation …,” Los Angeles police said in a statement. “Upon arrival, the officers observed the victim inside the room laying on the ground. His feet were tied together, and his hands were handcuffed behind his back. He had strangulation marks on his neck.”

Howe was found dead by the security guard and manager of the facility, where he had been living since last July, the LAPD reported. Police said he previously lived in La Quinta in Riverside County.
