A person died after becoming stuck under a Metro train Wednesday in the extension of the D Line under construction in the Mid-Wilshire area.
Los Angeles Fire Department firefighters were called just after 4:50 p.m. to Wilshire Boulevard and La Brea Avenue on reports of a person stuck under a train, according to the department’s Nicholas Prange.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. Authorities said the victim would be identified after relatives are notified. It was not immediately known if the victim was a pedestrian or a construction worker at the site.
The death was under investigation.
