A man suspected of carjacking was taken into custody in the unincorporated Florence-Firestone area Wednesday evening after leading authorities on a pursuit.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies began pursuing the red Toyota Tacoma in the South Gate area about 9:20 p.m. ABC7 reported the man struck a dog during the pursuit, but authorities could not immediately confirm the detail.
The man drove to the area of East 69th Street and Central Avenue, where he stopped the truck and attempted to run away. Sheriff’s deputies quickly caught up to the man and subdued him.
The man was taken into custody without further incident.
